went to the shops, came home , went to reverse onto drive.......nothing

no R on display, no drive :doh::doh:

Looks as if the switch is faulty, all the other gears are fine, drive as good as ever, just no reverse. A new switch is £333+VAT now :wtf:

Found a link to repairing the switch by dismantling and cleaning. Did have air con on which drips water on the switch :doh::doh::doh::doh::doh::doh:

switch has nothing to do with actual selection of reverse it is done mechanically by lever through cable ,drain some oil out and check colour and for metallic sheen

wow the price has gone up . but cleaning is a temporary fix (if it makes a diffrence at all)

seems to only have affected the reverse switch....worth a go as its going!

The td5 box has electronic control of the valves inside so without a signal that i want REVERSE it won't do it. had an oil change about 10k ago, been fine and still drives well in all other gears
