My beloved disco 300 V8 is in the good local garage as I had lost ABS while driving home 2 weeks ago,due to a LHD Truck driver (Foreign Plates) unaware of lane discipline, Mirrors, Signal, Manoeuvre and an HGV licence out of a lucky dip:mad:

The local garage have checked the car and found out that when it had been in for insurance damage repair 3 years ago - the "NICE" approved repair garage mechanic decided not to repair said ABS issue and just spliced the wiring into the oil pressure light so both went out.
:mad::mad::mad::mad:

My garage have repaired this bodged wiring job but they have found that there is no power going to my ABS Pump.

I have a spare ABS Pump and ECU - but trying to solve the "no juice" issue before replacing....

Any Ideas?

Your garage did isolate the battery before making their repairs, didn't they. :)

The wiring diagram shows 4 x fuses in the engine bay fuse box and one in the passenger fuse box that are involved with ABS so worth checking them.

If fuses are ok then following the wiring diagram check that you have power to the bits of kit that make up the ABS system, relay, pump, control unit etc is what I would do.

I would have thought they would have thought to do that....

I will tell them about the engine bay fuses and those i have under the drivers footwell, you said there are fuses in the passenger footwell relating to ABS? Are they beside the ABS ecu?

Thanks for the help yet again...

The fuse no.4 is on the satelite fuse strip of the main fuse board, it's the only 5amp fuse in the whole fuse box.

Engine bay fuse box it's a 30amp fuse no.5 the other fuses involved are main 40 and 60 amp, if a main fuse fuse has failed I wouls expect to see other circuits not working.

Discool can you or anyone help with a detailed wiring diagram for D1 1998 Disco V8 ABS system? PDF format would be great.

Regards
Craig

The best I can do is a scan from my Haynes book.

Help please. Still no power to my ABS system, can anyone think of what could be causing the failure. Could it be
Pump
relay
Fuse
Sensors on hubs.

I'm at a loss and all I want is my car back. :-(

abs pump relay (black relay) brown/red black white/orange brown/orange

abs load relay (yellow relay) brown/pink black/green black orange/pink

abs warning relay (green relay) black black brown/pink black/grey

may save someone some time in the future :D
