I would like to get my one good hand on the person who desigened the viscous fan arrangment on my V8 90, having just got a kenlowe double fan read the destructions and the now cheap.... landrover service manual ( did not mention specail spanners of opposite threads). I thought this looks easy , mistake , £6 for the spanner , and £20 worth of plasters..

Moto , get the pucker manual , its cheaper in the long run.

PS any one know the best place to mount my CB antena on my 90 , I greenlane a bit

Hi Mix,

Thought I'd post a reply as this forum seems a bit quiet!

Sorry to hear about your knuckles! Can I ask a dumb newbie question? What's the advantage of fitting an electric fan to a landy? I know whay I fitted them to bikes (provide more control over the temperature and minimise power loss). What are the downsides? My 90 has had one at some point (the switch and harness exist still), but is back to a viscous coupled fan now. Why would someone change it (apart from poverty, or an engine swap maybe!)

Thanks Mix

Graham

Hi ,
When I green lane and get it stuck , the temp goes up as the engine is running for the electric winch, V8 do not like getting to hot.

Plus I should get better fuel consumption , I have noticed the difference already just driving, less noise , seems a bit more pokey as well.

Got the fan on ebay , brand new twin suction fan , at half the cost of new kenlowe.

cheers for the reply , of to play now
