Hi all,

Advice sought please. I have a 1976 2 Door Range Rover and had taken the engine out to get it rebuilt. I've just looked for the engine number and its not stamped where it usually should be...N\S on block in front of dipstick.

I've looked every where and there only appears to be casting numbers near starting motor.

There is a number on top of Bellhouse Flange but it's 1386.

Any ideas\advice?

Can I still get the engine rebuilt without an engine number?
