200 early 300 tdi will cause you less grief as most insurance do not like modified vehicles
 
Yeah... But im a London cab driver and could get a very good engine from a taxi very cheap and my cab garage would fit it and i would get free services and cheap parts in the future as,ive thought about putting in a 300tdi and ive looked at LPG but these engines take some beating, my cab runs for hours and hours,they really are good engines. As far as the insurance goes , I will look into that, thanks for the advice.

Got one of them Nissan TD27 in my 90, I did not do the conversion myself, but it seems a straightforward job with only an adapter plate to the gearbox, and a corner of the left footwell modified.

I so dislike the engine that I'm going to dump the 200Tdi in my 127" and fit a QD32... :D
