Hi guys, I'm looking to change my wheels and tyres with a 2" lift on my 90 td5. I'm putting on steel 8 spoke but unsure whether to go for 265 or 285/75 r16 or drop a wheel size and put on 33/12.50r15. I'm going for Kumho KL 71 tyres. Any help will be appreciated

"Any help will be appreciated"

What sort of help are you after, what are you hoping to achieve?

265/75x16 was a standard LR fit so will fit perfectly without a lift.
If you raise the suspension (why?) then you will have more air under the arches, if you are doing it for looks and want to fill the gaps then go for the bigger tyres.

Top right corner of the screen, you'll find a white box with "google custom search" written in it.
There's a well kept secret to finding out the information you want.
I'll tell you though, because you sound like a nice person......

In that box, type this magic phrase:

biggest defender tyres

Then, as if by magic, right in front of your eyes will appear a list of posts other people have asked about big tyres for defenders.

Technology is your friend. If you ask questions on here about tyres, people get mad!

Enjoy

Not quite true, if you ask a specific question about a particular type or brand of tyre AFTER searching and being unable to answer your question, you will find the natives extremely helpful and informative and will often go out of their way to answer your question. ;);););););)
If however you ask the same question that has been asked a dozen times already this week (bearing in mind it's only Wednesday), then i'm afraid you may get some abuse:eek::eek::eek::doh::doh::doh:

Thanks Mike B, someone with a sensible answer, only had defender for 14 months so don't know everything like some people do(or think they do) thanks again

No Probs.

As a rule of thumb, as Grimmer said, if you want to know something, do a bit of legwork yourself on the search engines. If you can't find an answer, then come and ask. Somebody will help, but they get grumpy answering the same question 10 times a week!

Best of luck anyway!

PS,

Wiltshire Landyman is a bit menstrual sometimes! But he does know ****loads! or is that loads of ****? I cant remember!

And balance is now restored - baby member knows a little bit more about tyres and search engines. WL is placated again!

I should be a counsellor!
