Hi, I am Dieter Living in England for some time now and finally got in to a position to get my first Defender, after long reading and comparing I decided for a 110 300tdi 1996, well, is quit different from driving a Audi A3 lol. I love it, reason for joining the forum is to get to know likeminded people, getting to know my Defender and no doubts to obsurb the vast knowledge offered here. There are a lot of questions I have being new to this and hope to get some answers and maybe one day I can contribute to the forum. Thanks.

Welcome. The last Audi A3 my wife had was almost as uncomfortable as the Land Rover the suspension was so hard!

I quit like that, I like to feel the road on my spine makes me feel like one with the road if that makes sens, our Defender at the moment has the original suspension and is very soft, feels like being on a boat, waiting for the suspension upgrade which will happen end of the month, I was told the driving will be very different, more stable I hope.

I agree when you are driving a car it is great to have a firm grip on the road, unfortunately it was my wife's car and when I was in the passenger seat and she was hitting every pot hole she could the experience was not so rewarding!

Yes, there are, I do find it a bit frustrating not knowing how to compair the sounds it makes driving a 22 year old LR, I paid 12k for mine with high mileage and all original
But very well looked after, no off-road mods on it, and I notice the more original there come the more costly there are, (strange) bering in mind that the off-road stuff is very expensive. Sorry I am runting, there great fun though.

The above lane was between barbury castle & ogbourne st Andrew.
Most lanes round here close at October & re open may.
Plenty to drive in a standard motor but there are places it gets tight.
The 1 below is the other side of ogbourne gets a bit scratchy on your paint

Looks like fun, I have to wait for new suspension before I take my Defender off-road.

You can get every where with normal suspension. I only have road tyres & normal suspension. Makes it more exciting.
Also don't forget you have to wave to any Landrover you see;)
    Not range/discoverys

    You may see me around.

Greetings Dieter and welcome. Be sure to wave at fellow Landrovers, is good for the soul and you might need some help one day :)
I've had my D90 for just over a year now and absolutely love it. Spent today fitting a new rear door lock, & treating the rust, ,& spraying the ex rusty bits, & fixing the wiper, & making sure the door card fits proper...
    Enjoy! :D

He probably felt sorry for you. All that anger and tension built up inside. One should always release the Freelander within.
