had a leak from the front passenger hub since i got the car, its had a new seal set and one shot grease but still leaking. stripped it yesterday and found the swivel ball a bit more corroded than i thought, but does it need a new 1 or is this 1 still useable and just needs cleaning?

One shot grease is the easy way to 'disguise' a leak :) ...but it doesn't stop water getting in.

To be honest I have replaced better. Let me see if I have a suitable (second hand) replacement. Looks like n/s ....7 bolt I am assuming?

Call me Saturday, phone number on website in sig block and I'll let you know if I have one.

Looks like the chrome has gone. If so, replace - they're not that dear and you've done most of the hard work already. Do the swivel pins while you're there and the hub's as good as new.

Cheers Andy, will give you a tinkle tomorrow afternoon. it is nearside but not sure if its 7-bolt or not. its a disco 1 300tdi if that helps? if not then i can find out later if i go back to the other house. dont remember it being that corroded when i changed the seals last year, only stripped it down cause my 1st thought was the axle breather is blocked so the diff oil was blowing past the seal into the hub. got a feeling the breather is blocked tho, the driveshaft had beads of water on when i removed it so probably sucked in a load of crap last time i was wading!!
