My 20 year old 90 has its original shocks and springs which are more than a little tired. I'm looking to replace the suspension soon and would value the opinions of those more experianced than me.

I don't want any lift just standard height is fine BUT I just don't know to buy. Should I have HD spring or standard weight? and what shocks should I consider? I'm open to all suggestions as I have no preconceived ideas.

I have around £200ish, whats good for that price?

Cheers guys.

Get originals Armstrong for the shocks and std springs. They've done ok for 20 years. I always replace shocks and springs with OE parts.

I was thinking OE was probably the way to go but wondered about carrying heavy loads and towing - trailers full of logs. Would HD spring be worth considering or would they compromise the handling too much when not loaded.

are your springs really shagged or more the dampers (shocks)

HD springs will help firm the ride. If cost is an issue standard dampers fine, unless your going major off roading or drive it like a sports car.
Then again cheap **** is cheap enough to do it better when funds allow

Depends what you want by the sounds of it standard all around seem best. if you find its still dragging its ass then go HD on rear its only like £30 extra and about 20 minutes work to change the rears. I think it'd be best to see what its like first before going HD as it can really be a harsh ride on a 90.

I went the other way I went for 3 inch longer but softer springs. Mine are 175Lbs an inch and 3 inches longer than standard. It gives mine a nice soft ride but does suffer when laiden. Polybushes made my ride hardsh very harsh and I will throw that ****e away soon. My old springs were abouts 215Lbs an inch from memory but obviously each corner is different slightly as per LR specs but I put the same RR Rears red/whites all around. Jai

Cheers guys, I think you have confirmed my thoughts. Standard seems best for what I use my Landy for which is mostly local trips, a bit of towing and lugging loads but this is only short distances and a little bit of green laning.
