Hi all
The seats in my defender are due for changing.
Ive seen many replacement seats from Exmoor trim etc and are a bit expensive.
Ive heard metro seats fit?? Anyone any thoughts or put seats from other makes of car in the defender?

Standard replacements from paddocks, you can buy just the base or the whole thing or anything in between. They're ok and they make exmoor's prices look a bit daft.

I have RRC seats going in my 110 over the next couple of weeks. I'm changing both rows to rangey.

Also, if I'm feeling really poofy I may wire them up too:D

I'll post a couple of pics once they're in

I'm going to be moving the battery, if it goes under the bonnet the existing cabling will probably still be usable.

My concern with disco or RR seats which are undeniably comfy in their original vehicle, is that me head would hit the roof and there'd be nowhere to put me legs. Plus I use me middle seat quite often I don't spose you could keep that in with either of the above?

I have no bother fitting in 90 with Disco seats fitted and i am 6' 1", we have a large cubby box fitted in the centre but only taking up the same room as a central seat.

With RRC seats you need to get shot of the middle seat.
I want to get one of the MSS cubby boxes as they're alot narrower than the one I have now. Because all the electric doofers and arm rests are on the inside my cubby is way too big.

I'm only a dwarf so I'll still need cushions under me arrs:D

I'm sure i read on here a while back about someone using citreon bx seats. think they had to modify the mounting holes and the seat bases came off too. Had one of these years ago but can't remember wot the seats were like. Suppose a look round the scrappie's might help.

I'm 6' & had no prob' wiv RRC seats. Cubby box still fitted too. I got around the battery access thing by grinding off the raised bump on the runner that stooped the seat sliding off the end. Just so happened that folded forward the seat hit the dash before it came off of the end. Battery access was then pretty good.

Oh, fergot, to open the cubby box I had to fold the seat arms up, no biggee tho'.

Can't remember who it was (again) but someone reckoned that Nissan Micra seats had removable bases. So I posted on the Micra sports forum to ask the question an only one bloke replied and dint say either way whether they did or not. Mebee it's a matter of posting on the Citroen BX forum. I Wouldn't know a Citroen BX if it hit me in the goolies!!!
