I'm having a job getting a new fuel intake hose fit. No laughing! :D I can get it on the tank, or on the filler neck, but not both! I've cut it down to the size of the old one but it's too stiff to bend into place. Can I soak it in hot water or something to make it more malleable? Any other tricks or suggestions? I thought this would be a straight-foward job for once.. :p

Yeah.. when I get the rear axle back on and I can roll her out the garage.. :)

I started by pushing the hoses down and through onto the tank with it in place and then tried to fit the filler neck last, but I think I need to drop the tank as you suggest, fit the hoses and filler neck, and then lift the tank onto the hoses - which I'm hoping I can do with a jack and if the hoses are already in place and won't move away as I raise the tank. It's a job by yourself. They've no bend to them hardly at all when new. I'll try the hot water when I try again. Might leave the blow torch though Bobsticle :D

If its just the ends you can use a saucepan full of boilng water and put them in that, or if its the whole lot then slowly coil it in like pasta then fit it while its still soft.
