Hello there, I've just recently bought a 1985 bronze green 90 2.5td. Not for any other particular reason other than I've always fancied one really but thought I'd join here for tips on keeping it in good nick. Its a clean example overall with only 90k on clock but has its niggles here and there and want to make it my own whilst keeping it relatively standard . I'll post some pics soon. Cheers!

Welcome to the mad house :)

That's a nice looking 90, just make sure you treat it to a good range of security products.

Trackers are great and also advertise the fact that your vehicle is fitted with a paid for subscription tracker too as they tend to leave those alone unless they don't google the tracker company first, DiskLok, a gearshift lock from X-eng is good as is the steering lock and of course pedal locks or clutch claw alongside a decent alarm and immobiliser, security hinges help stop them pinching your doors and bonnet while parked on the drive too ;)

Hi and welcome!

Nice looking 90. Quite original too. A nice set of steel wolf wheels would set it off nicely but that’s just my opinion. As mentioned, don’t forget some suitable security measures too.

Cheers for the links mate. Security was one of my first concerns. I've got a rocker switch that makes a red light flash at the moment

Is that your hummer tank thing?
No lol that is a local recovery guy. Starter motor failure. Didn't know this at the time as would of just got a bump start from someone. Had a loud clonk on startup and then clicking after that. Didn't want to take any risks in case it was timing belt failure. Touch wood it's the only problem I've had in 4000 miles motoring. Hopefully the reliability is a sign of things to come lol

Hey there's better ones than mine I just hope to discourage them
Condition isn't always what they're after. When I go out nicking them I look for ease of access to take it... who can see me taking it... escape routes are clear... ease of breaching security... what parts I currently have orders for...
