New Engine Vibration.

Hi,
Can anyone recommend a Really Experienced landrover mechanic in the Doncaster area, I have just had a new 300tdi stripped engine fitted in my 98 Disco and I am getting vibration through gearstick and throttle pedal vibration increases with speed. Garage that installed it says its normal, but it did'nt do it before replacement. I just need someone who is experienced in landrovers to drive it and give me their opinion.

I used to use Doncaster Country Vehicles, (formerly RCV) was it them that did the engine work? RCV Doncaster - Land Rover Service and Repair Specialists

If you like I could try it and give you an un-biased opinion of 'normal' or not .. pm me if so.

Hi, Thanks for quick reply, yes I use the same garage, no prob's in past they have a good set up, but this vibration seem odd, if you hold the gear stick for long you would end up with vibration white finger!.
I have taken it back today for them to have another look at it.
I would like a second opinion if you have the time though?.

Might sound a bit obvious here, but have you had a quick look to make sure the engine mounts have been properly tightened?

Hi,
Yes checked engine mounts, prop's, do nut, checked allround, can't see anything obvious, I wondered if the engine could be mounted just off alignment or something? .
Will have to wait till I get it back and see if they found anything!!

Was just a thought... I had some muppets change the clutch on my Dolomite years back (engine/gearbox out) and they forgot to tighten one of the engine mounts. It dinarf shake !
