Hi all
Ordered a new disco sport s plus in April, the dealer contacted me in June saying the model had been discontinued and they have changed this to the urban. I was ok with this until I went to the dealership on Monday to find they also changed the order date to June. Is this right to lose three months or should I have kept my place in the queue. Thanks

Enjoy the tranquility of not owning a Land Rover while you can.

You could try writing to Lakshmi Mittal to complain. He is probably off on his yacht, but someone might reply. :)

And welcome to LZ!

That's a difficult one. LR only build vehicles to order. That's orders internally from themselves or from dealers. Dealers order because they have demand from sales or sometimes buy for their own stock so they can deliver sooner. they kow the popular specs to go for. When your original vehicle was ordered they would have reserved a place in the production track on the day build was to start. The tricky bit is the changing of the spec. The new spec may not be available at the time. Or they may not be able to change the spec without requesting a new build date as they were essentially ordering a different vehicle from LR. There isn't anything you can do about it really. You could pull out of the sale but then you lose out on the vehicle. LR production is under a significant strain at the moment. A lot of vehicle manufacturers are having the same problem. Supply of parts is difficult.
