Went to wax the chassis today, and er found a hole is OSR chassis, then a couple in the bottom of the rear x member, so its time for a new 1/2 chassis
I have been searching, few people seem to list the 1/2 chassis and I cannot find a galved one at all!

If you want a galv one you mite have to buy one then have it galved but i don't think you can just weld a galv 1/2 chassis to a none galv chassis as the fumes that come off welding galv is very harmfull then there is a risk of the welded joint rotting out quite quick from the inside as there is no protection, there are a couple of youtube vids of peops fitting galv rear X members to disco's if that's any help

I am starting to come to the same conclusion ref buy a painted one and get it galved, lot of faff a driving all over the shop to get it done, seems strange that no one doe sone off the shelf.
I know about the zinc poisioning, so long as enough zinc is ground off around the weld area the fumes are not really a problem.

I have welded on a couple of galved rear cross members with no issues, I own one of them and it is still good, I fitted it in 2014.
