While replacing second rear shock the post at the top of the shock mount broke when attempting to remove the nut. To replace the mount requires removal and it is is held to the frame with three bolts with 17mm heads. These are turning in the frame and not coming loose. Has anyone else experienced this problem and any suggestions on how to solve this one?

Solved. See below.

Cut them off with a grinder. I would bet there is a rusty hole behind that mount as well, as that chassis is not great 🤔

Thanks, I figured out the issue. The bolts are long and go all the way through to the other side of the frame. I might still have to cut them off.

Finale: cut off the bolt heads with 4in angle cutting disc and they punched through easily. Frame looks a lot more rusty in the photo than first hand. It is quite solid, but defo could use a wax-oil.

A-frame cross member looks a bit crusty, think you need to start saving up, maybe.

Here's a link to the new shock mounts ...

and another for the bolts and washers ...

Clean those rusty flakes off the chassis, apply a rust-eater and then lots of grease prior to bolting the mounts on.
Same on the back of the chassis.
I'd recommend using a large (penny) washer on the backside too.
