Need help buying a Series 2

Hi, I found this board a bit ago, I am in the US but I this looked like a pretty active site. I had a question about a Disco. I am looking to buy one here by mid december at the latest. I have always like the Disco's but never knew a whole lot about them. My buddy got me hooked when he bought his 99 Discovery, it was a pretty nice vehicle. I would like to get an 02 or up model with a V8 and dual roofs. When I test drive the vehicle what known problematic things should I try to recreate or what known problems should I have examined by a licensed mechanic? Also is there different V8 motors available and if so is there any advantages of one over the other? Thanks for all the help!

Hi chap.
Have you tried the same post in the Disco section? There's some clued up sorts in there.........never go there myself cos' they're a bit weird (all wanting their vehicles watertight & with working electronics & everything! But they should be able to help.
