Hi It looks like I need to cut my arches. I have rescently upgraded to 245/75/16 rubber, and it now catches on the back of the arches. This itself did not bother me mutch untill I noticed it is bending the rear quarter panel/sil bits in woods. If I dont cut them out soon they will damage more of the body work. I would have just attacked with the grinder if the previous owner had not put on abs plastic arches (orriginal size). I dont have protruding wheels so I dont need extended arches, however when I peal off the existing arches revealing the sikaflex they are mounted with, it will look messy so I guess I need to cover up with some more extensions. So my question is does anyone no of any descent priced extensions. I plan to cut out the whole arch to possibly accomadate larger rubber in the future. Any tips appreciated as so far I have only found fairly expensive options. Dont need them to stick out much if at all, more to cover up the cutting job. Cheers in advance Jim

could you not keep the original arches and just camel cut the area below the plastic?

on some discos i have seen the rear arch stops at the rubbing strip on the side of the body so you could just cut some of the arch away below that and stop your tyres rubbing.

Do you need archs like these?

rubber edging strip for boat hulls has a sort of 'crimped together U shape' and is very good for pushing onto the cut panel edge, to tidy and protect.

that's what i did once anyway :)
