Evening All,

Thank you to a mate i have had my D2 auto Td5 plugged in. and it says that the passenger door is open.

the door is shut properly they central locking still works and also the button inside and you can not open the door from the outside, but yet you press the key fob to lock and the horn still sounds saying something is open and interior lights are on.

We have checked for continuity on the cables and get i nice beep on volt meter.

The only thing i could think of is maybe not enough power going to the lock or a dirty lock?

Iirc, the switches that are made to acknowledge the door is locked or not are internal to the door actuator.

At least that is what I remember someone writing on here once. @brian47 may have more info.

Cheers

Yes, the door status monitoring switches are part of the actuators, the problem is that nanocom or any other tester won't be able to tell you which door's switch is bad if it's not the driver's door cos all the other 4 doors are on the same circuit... the door monitoring system works with door's open switches when the doors are closed and when one is opened the door switch closes to earth and they are all in parallel on one input to the BCU if you see what i mean, the only way to figure this out is to remove the door card, unplug the actuator, one by one while after the actuator was unplugged shut the doors and lock with the fob... when you'll not hear the misslock warning with one unplugged there's the fault.. it can be chaffed wiring touching earth where the harness enters the door too....maybe you find it on the first attempt though if this test fails it's certainly a short to earth on the wiring somewhere
