n/a out 200tdi in...alternator wiring???

Put a 200tdi in my 90 today and need a bit of advice off someone who has done this themself... the 90s alt' wiring has 2 thick brown wires and 1 smaller brown wire into a plug...200tdi alt wire has 1 thick brown and 2 thin white/mix wires. I dont want to melt anything by just trying all the wires!!

No i dont want to,but yes it would fit but it generates less amps. 200 alt is nearly new aswell,

Listen to the man.

FIRST get the bugger going and charging using the ONE alternator that you KNOW matches the car's electrical system.

It is almost impossible to think that alternator isn't going to shove out all the leccy-oooomph you need.

Then later at your leisure you can work out how to fit the other one without a big melt-down.

I eventually found the answer i was lookin for in disco section (alternator wiring) which was by thee charlsey, but IT HAD NO SHOUTING IN IT

Anyway lets not get shirty. Everythings is fine now all in order .. wish i had done the search first! but i need to get more cleverer.ffs.
