So at the moment my Defender is still giving problems and is off the road, my Freelander is off the road for a bottom pulley repair (see other threads) and my wife did this today with her Freelander (she's OK by the way):

It's a write off. So now I don't have a single driveable car and I'm on night shifts and the missus works 9-5. I've managed to hire a van locally for the short term but it looks like a new vehicle will have to be bought.

Oh no! Hope she's alright.
That's quite an achievement on a completely straight and clear bit of road.

As long as she's ok. It's a sad end for a Cairns blue sport. I'll have the wheels and fogs of your after getting rid of a few parts.
Although shipping for the wheels might make a deal out of the question. :(

bloody hell mate ,but more importantly she's safe and well , landy can be replaced

have u thought yet of what ur next landy will be

once again , good to hear she's ok

To be honest I could do with both those things. However the front bumper is in a ditch. So it'll be little use to me.

I must admit. It were mine, I'd still drive it until the insurance pays out. The Freelander body is very robust and will only have some scuffs and dents.

I'm sure we could sort something out. I'm heading down to Wales next Friday for a week or so to see family. I could leave the wheels with my brother and he could ship them from there. I'd have to inspect the wheels and remove the tyres. The spare has a brand new tyre on but the others all need replacing anyway. The fogs would probably be light enough to send by Royal Mail individually.

I still have the Defender and my own Freelander and we'd already lined up a newer car to pick up in a couple of weeks (not a Landy) and had planned on selling this Freelander. I'll never get rid of my Defender but when my Freelander needs replacing I'll get something different. I'll decide that when the time comes. In the meantime I now have two Freelander spares cars.

Glad Mrs. Pilot is OK, shame about the FL Sport.

Just had a thought if you are breaking this vehicle, I may be interested in the front seats for my commercial. If that was a possibility I could arrange to meet you at Forton services or Tickle trout, Preston on the M6.

On looking at the suspension and how far it's moved. I suspect that the wheels won't be straight or maybe cracked. The loadings needed to remove a front wheel completely are well over the design spec of the wheel.
Shame to see such a mess. But as long as the wife's OK. The body's done it's job.
The Freelander has very strong body. You might even find that the body is ok where the suspension mounts are. The suspension is designed to break before the body gets deformed.

Glad your missus is okay. Where in Shetlands did the accident happen as I used to live in Saxa Vord on Unst and driving was an art in the eighties.Shetland Ponies Sheep or Church Wardens was some of the events. There was a house on Unst that's taken a few hits even from me. You might need the local Shaman to bless your vehicles next time.

Glad no one hurt - is it my eyes or is the rear subframe rotted through on the drivers side near the diff ? The passenger side also appears to have a bit of angle iron welded across the same area (but other side obviously) ??? May be worth all checking for such rot. May be easier ways than rolling it to do this!?!?!?!?

The sub frame is a right mess. There's a lump of angle iron where there should be a tube. Also the OS rear radius arm mount has collapsed and folded in on its self. (Possible reason for loss of control in the first place?) Cars rust badly that part of the world.
A replacement rear sub frame would restore the rear suspension to correct. It won't fix the body damage though.
