setting out to buy my first landy this week its a 92 tdi with 68000m. on the clock can anyone tell me what to pay for it and tell tail signs to look out for

Well i'm on the lookout for one myself, and i can assure you there a little pricey at the mo. I would guess that on the forecourt it would bring £4500 - £5000. Tell tale signs??????? well theres a question. Bulk head rot, chassis rot,Notchy gearboxes, jumping out of gear (check all including reverse) and a must is checking that the diff lock and low range selector works. That names but a few checks i'm sure some of the more experienced Landy owners will have more imput..... Good luck in your quest.

cheers for info, iam buying it for 3500(private) only thing iam concern about is that the miles are genuine.

Have you looked at the previous mot's???? The milage can ussual be summed up by simple things like:-
Wear on stearing wheel, gearknob, drivers floor, seat.
How fast the seatbelts reel in even, and more than anything the general condition of the vehicle!! And i can assure you if the body/bulkhead/chassis seem ok then the engine will go on for ever under correct maintainance!!

All i can say is don't tell me where it is or i'll beat you to it!!!!!:D.. Best of luck to you.
