Hi Guy's (And Girl's! Its always better to be safe!:D)
I am looking at buying a landy 2a/3 soon and i am not sure what the crack is with the kid's car seat situation!?!? My little lad is 4 next week and is over 3 and a half foot so thats not the problem its the new one on its way im thinking about! Is it as simple as sticking some nice back seats in and having a kind of disco layout as it were???

Cheer's for that i wasnt wanting to jump to any immediate expense if i dont have to (and may not want to either) It all started with wanting a 90 but once the tax free bit got me it was series all the way! I was planning to make it look like a 90 but now that has changed as the looks of series has really grown on me! lol

Yippeeeeeee.... No need for this question now!!!
I never saw this coming but i was lucky enough to get my new series!
Im still getting over the insurance cost of £170 for the year as opposed to my Evolution 5 i had last year which was £1200:eek:
Many thanks to Disco Stu for keeping me in check when thinkin of buying other silly cars!
Now im off to my garage for about a month see you then! :D

dumb statement..

im off ta the garage for a month...

er .........try forever ffs.....:):):p

 This could be true! Is it natural that the more i strip it down the more i want to strip!? :D
Back doors roof and rear quarters removed and back seats to get at the rot and corrosion on the sill and rear seat mounting area aswell as the boot floor! Any idea where to buy a new boot floor or am i better having one made? Gone at what i can only assume is the usual place all four mounting points are peppered!
(Quote of the week from my father was that i will be a dab hand with a welder by the time im finished!)

I am glad you have gone off this idea.

Now just don't ever get the idea either that it would be good to replace the chassis, running gear, suspensions, body, engine, gearbox, insides, wheels, etc. for defender parts and pretend it is still a taxed except series...:)

Engine is the old 2.6 straight six so i wont be changing it although it would be nice to fit an lpg but im not sure if the engine would take it what with needing a lead supplement already!?
My main aim is to keep her as standard series as possible!
I have spent all day on her again and im sure the novelty will wear off but at the moment im loving it!!!
Im taking loads of photos of the work im doing and thinking of starting a thread on my rebuild both to help others and for when i need help myself with a stage i might get stuck on!
Which at the moment is needing a new boot floor and the forward facing rear seat boxes and such! :-/

Here's the worst! the chassis is rock solid never been welded ex mod!

Time for a new poll "which landrover suffers least from rust ?..."

The one thats kept in a heated garage and only taken out when its nice weather!:D

I must admit it's goin to be interesting to see how many Disco's are still around after 32 years!
A 91 on a J reg Disco is 19 years old and there getting harder to mot isnt that right 300tdistu:croc:

Welcome to the world of S111.
My kids love it. I got them involved in stripping it down and painting it and they love it.
Seat belt wise I have 2 inertia in the front and a lap belt in the middle. in the rear I have 4 lap belts all from exmoor trim.
This year we have gone topless and it is so much fun.
