ere you lot need a bit of advice please !!
have been offered a disco mpi needs a bit of work (welding ) is it possible to burn the mpi engine and trsnsplant a 200 tdi in it im not sure from a petrol to a diesel

anything's possible, but it's a hell of a lot of work.
my mate looked into it, but decided to stick to a replacement MPi (Rover T series).

i have the mpi and have looked into the doozil transplant , but as trewy said it is a lot of work , you need the fuel pump , sender unit and lines from tank to engine etc , you also need the doozil engined clutch and gearbox as the mpi r380 is not rated for the torque a doozil will churn out , its a massive job and not one i could undertake on my own with my limited knowledge and facilities , and i was quoted 2.5 to 3 K by an indie to supply all the bits and do it .
just not worth the hassle , better in my case to keep saving up for a fender which is what i really wanted but couldn't afford when i bought the mpi .

Walk away and get a tdi!
By time you've sourced the parts and counted the cost, you could have got a good tdi anyway.

Surely you must have got promoted by now?? Promotion = pay rise = Defender???

my promotion plan didnt work paul , you know i had that big row with him a couple of days before he died right ...well they just give me a final written for swearing at him ...apparently you are allowed to think your boss is a coont but not ackshually tell him
