Had a day off to get the D1 tested, it passed of course, but with the usual advisory’s on my corroded brakes.
For a few years now I’ve had an advisory for the brake condition but not last year, last year nothing was mentioned not that I’ve ever bothered with them.

So this year it’s the brakes again, plus the front plastic number plate which now has a large black patch seeping through to the rear of white laminate, it’s something that started around 15 years ago and which over the years has increased so today it got a mention.

Also something iffy with the rear brakes the tester didn’t like “rear foot brake effort generally low, just passing efficiency limits” but I believe that’s due to the new pads I fitted a a couple of months or so ago and which still require bedding in, as they only been on for 50 odd miles, I think my brakes are okay but it appears that the brake test roller didn’t think so.

A few years ago I always received a ‘percentage’ printout for the brakes also one for the emissions, both were of interest... but there’s no such thing now.

Out of interest did the testing station use a 2 or 4 wheel rollersAtA when testing brakes.?
I have never had any 4wd car tested on rollers, they always use a deceleration tester as the transmission can be damaged else.
At least you won't need to worry about mot for the next 12 months. Glad mines over and done, no worrying about decat or egr for another year.
 
Two wheel roller tester, ie one axle at a time, each roller, as far as I could see from where I was sitting now has a large LCD display instead of the old analogue clock dial with a pointer.
Vehicle brake testing it’s not my field of expertise, but I believe one roller goes clockwise while the other roller is anti clockwise at something like 3 mph.
I’ve been using the same garage for the last 16 years for MOTs :D

Might be wrong but didn't think that 2 wheel testers could be used without risking damage. Even says to use deceleration tester in mot testers manual by dot. I know my testing station refuses to test any 4wd on their rollers. Suits me fine as there's less to find fault with individual efficiency per wheel, lol.
I put new discs on front and new pads around about 1wk before this years mot. It passed on efficiency but tester said the brakes didn't feel bedded in fully. Still no advisories so happy.
Just wonder if a testing station did bugger something up by using a roller how happy they would be to fix it when handbook says not to.?
 
You know, you really should drive that thing a bit more often, barely a thousand miles a year is barely enough to keep that V8 happy ;)

Good news on the pass though.
When my RR started rotting away I had to get something similar so the D1 fitted the bill, as it was very similar, so I went and got one thanks to my bonus which would only have gone into my pension fund. :(

The first five years it had been to southern Germany twice and Portugal once and loads of long weekends in North Yorkshire :)
But then work takes over and any holidays are now by plane. :D

They did mine on the 2wd rollers in Belgium and I had put the CDL in and it shot off the rollers LOL they also find it hard to test RRCs and P38s due to the VCU in the transferbox :D

My local garage takes them on a test drive to test the brakes.
