Hi there.
I've been reading this forum for sometime now but (very luckily I have to say) haven't encountered too many problems with the Range. Mostly post on pistonheads, but not sure they will be able to help me out on this one and notice a few other people from the PH forums on here.
I'm driving a '94 LSE with a rebuilt engine (by a rover V8 racing tuner) on air sus.
Cheeky that a first post should be an ask for help, but hopefully you'll understand.
Anyway I pootled up to the Salisbury byways this morning after replacing the handbrake cable for which I raised the suspension and locked the rocker to do the work. After that the suspension warning light started it's beautiful display and decided to interweave its heart stopping dance with the joy of the byways (it was intermittently turning on and off). I soon realised that the internal controls had turned off, so was stuck in automatic mode with regards the suspension settings.
So with no high setting I came to a spot near the (Salisbury) racecourse and thought better of it (road tyres and Harvey Bailey rear strut don't help), did a 3 -point-turn and accelerated off to a jitter. The sodding suspension had dropped completely onto the bushes and gone into limp home mode.
Far to far to be driving the girl back like that I called the RAC (I know, I know) who eventually got me home.
I'm praying to every religious icon that it is just a suspension reset that is all that is needed (I can't think what it could be).
So in that vein I ask if anyone can recommend a decent mechanic who knows his RRC onions who might be able to do this in the area (broadstone, poole, dorset). I should be able to get a tow from the RAC to the garage, but if it's close enough I might be able to drive (although I'm not sure how advisable this is, never had her go into limp-home before).
Anyhoo, here's a photo of her...
