Well, just got me new Mantec Snorkel fitted. Went ok, no thanks to Mantec who seam to think fitting instructions are not neccessary!

Anyway, used plently of sealant between existing ducting and inside edge of wing and between snorkel and outside edge of wing, so hopefully got a decent seal here.

Q: What about the T piece halfway along the ducting inside the engine bay:confused: Is that not just going to act like a big bloody water hoover?

Oh dear:( I'm sure I've not stumped the experts. I must have bored then with a stupid question:eek:.

I'll try again:D Can anyone tell me if I need to block off the T piece of the air intake hose. The one in the picture, within the engine bay.

Ah:eek: thank you. But I have searched all over the net and can not find any comment on this hose connection:confused: Surely my landy aint the only one with this T piece:confused:

Is there a repacement part or is it a creative DIY job and if so why? That's whats bugging me most. I guess I get so used to finding the answer to anything, I feel a bit self doubting when I can't find an answer to even an apparently obvious problem:eek:

id love to comment usefuly but im not a diesel man.

however quite simply, as above, if its an open hole it needs removing/bypassing or it needs sealing up.

yes the intake system needs to be sealed.

when you think you have finished, run the enginew and put your hand/a rag over the snorkel inlet and you should get a good vacuum and no sounds of leaks.

if not, try try again until its fully sealed!

Just checked Busters Photo tour on Collapsable Steering Shaft Removal. I believe it is suposed to have a bend in it like this. Phew.:)

that T piece has a 1 way vlave in it to allow water to drain out of the pipework should it find its way into and down your snorkel.

I have left mine alone and not had any problems. I have gone pretty deep to.
