Evening Guys,

Back for some more top advice. I have checked out the following post first but it doesn't answer my questions: https://www.landyzone.co.uk/land-rover/lt77-reverse-detent-issues.328523/#post-4228789

My reverse detent has sized, so its very hard to find 1st, ive stripped it and ordered new springs and a new ball bearing as mine wasn't even round any more. My question is that the following part diagram: https://images.app.goo.gl/WSNhiPt8WFsyHvzQ8 shows a circlip part number FRC5596, but I cant see where this would go in my housing? there is no indent in my housing to accept a circlip so surely it would just pop out? it also didn't have one when i stripped it?

Any advice would be great.

Thanks guys.

the plunger is held by the detent pushing into the plunger groove, the springs have little travel,so clip isnt needed

Sorry mate, I meant the clip, where is the spring clip meant to sit? Is there meant to be a small groove for it at the end if the housing?
