Seen a few DIY and many professional LS3/Big8 Defender conversions but never actually seen any videos off them off road, bar the Ultra4 trucks.

Are they actually any good? If their owners actually take them off road instead of going to Tesco...

Good and off road type will likely depends on a lot of things.

There is no reason why they can't work off road. If they are a 350 Chevy, then they will be more nose heavy than an RV8. And maybe slightly worse than a Td5. The LS is lighter but still weighs more than an RV8.

That said, few off roading disciplines really require lots of wide open throttle. So the extra power isn't really needed for most off roading.

And lots of power and torque can certainly result in more borkage.

And the reality is, there really aren't all that many of these vehicles. And they will have all cost huge sums of money. To then beat on it off road is probably a pretty rare thing.
