LR5 WHEELS ON A LR3

Hi, I have been using some 255x50x20'S on my 2006 Disco 3 HSE. The ride is terrible.

Looking to change down to 19's and have come across a set from a Discovery 5 using 255X60X19's. Will these wheels fit straight on to my LR3 as the seller suggests. I am not so sure.

Any help would be appreciated.

don’t forget the tyres must have a rating of 111 side wall rating

also need to check the PCD

PCD = 5/120 (This means a five wheel stud pattern, with the 5 studs on a pitch circle diameter of 120mm

Offset = 53P (This dimension is the distance from the wheel hub to the rim edge.

don’t know what the D5 rim weight rating is and hope u didn’t mind me saying , must tell ur ins company

meant to say , max diameter is 31.6 inches for the D3s

They fit but are bigger than recommended for 19 inch wheels on a D3 size should be 255/55/19

trying to remember, what the lowest recommended sidewall measurement they should be to give a decent ride , was it 60

know mine are 235/70/17 so shouldn’t put my rims at risk over some of the low profile ones u sometimes see

I ran my D3 with 255/60/18 Pirelli ATR tyres. These gave a good combination of ride comfort and snappy steering response.

If you want a more comfortable ride you could do better than a half inch on the bottom surely?

18" or even 17" would actually give you a sidewall to flex, I hate my van on 50 ratio, terrible ride but it corners like it's on rails.

agree , i’ve got 235/70/17 on mine and must admit ride is extremely nice , hadnt really noticed until i bought a disco in how many low profiles are fitted
