Hi all,
My 4.0 GEMS has LPG installed and runs on it fine. However, if you've seen my previous thread (Still losing water) I've run the car tonight for about 40 miles on petrol only and don't seem to have the same issue.
I've had a look at my setup and I've come up with a query and a possible fault that will need further investigation.
The coolant supply to the reducer is T-ed off the supply and return for the heater. Now I can't see that this will provide any 'flow' around the reducer short of some suction as the coolant flows to the heater matrix and back.
For my money, the supply for the reducer should be T-ed off EITHER the supply or the return for the heater, but not both, using two elbows instead of two Tees.
Anyone with LPG on their RR got a setup that sounds similar to mine, or sounds similar to what I think it should be?
I've a feeling that the area that needs further investigation is the reducer itself because something is pressurizing my water supply and the run on petrol only doesn't seem to cause it.

T's are standard. My LPG systems on my current RR and previous Jag used T's and they worked fine.

You can run the water feed "in series". Some people do, but it's not necessary, it may even slow your flow rate to your heater matrix.

If your water pump is pumping water to the heater matrix, then it'll go round both. Once you're above tickover there is plenty of pressure.

I haven't read your other thread, but it is possible that the internals of the reducer have broken down and it is allowing LPG gas in to your coolant circuit.

The reducers have a rubber diaphram in them and it will fail in the end. You can buy kits to repair them. The test I suspect will be to sniff the cooant, if it stinks like LPG does then you should investigate further....

That's what I reckon may have happened. I'm going to run a la wallet drainer for the next couple of days to make sure then I'll get someone to have a proper look.
