I have reconditioned a replacement lower dash/heater duct and I now need to refit the top plate & cable.

The foam is in surprisingly good condition, but I don't want it out again in a hurry, so which non-setting sealant are people using when refitting that top plate please?
TIA

What thickness was that please?
Dunno :vb-weyes: was 20 yrs ago, at a guess 6 or 8mm? I also glued layers together for the heater box to bulkhead seal, around the gear levers(under the rubber thing) and under the brake master cylinder lid.
Oh, and on the heater box flaps inside the heater box.
The best stuff I used is blue and soft and warm to the touch , cheaper stuff is sort of plasticy and not as flexible/warm/soft.
