Help :

Yesterday swapped my fishing car for a Range Rover, think its quiet a bargin but hey who knows at this stage.

Couple of problems :)
Its a 1995 Range Rover i think i was told it was a P38

Last night took her for a drive, and decided like a prat to put it into Low Ratio - Slide over to the left on the gear lever "Auto she is"

Started beeping and everything, and when i clicked it back into High range it kept in low ratio...

The line for the high ratio, keeps flashing and when i press the sport button its not doing anything at all...

Thats the first problem....

Second problem, there is inside the full clarion DVD / and tv's in the headrests, and i am told there is a box which should be in the boot of the car, but the box was taken out - Where the hell do i get the box from, it looks like it was a cd controller or something with another white plug with a load of multi coloured wires going through to the back of it....

Anyone out there got any idea's as i aint got a scooby on the range rovers, or is it just best to throw it into Landrover MK and let them sort it out ?

daft suggestion but its worth a go:
put the gear lever back in low & drive forwards a few metres then reverse back.
(if you're on tarmac ONLY DRIVE IN A STRAIGHT LINE, NO TURNING !!)
then move the gear lever back to high range and drive forwards a few metres then reverse back.
becuase the P38's dont get low range used very often it may just need 'unsticking'
this is by no means a guaranteed fix but its got to be worth trying before the garage get their hands on your wallet, especially if they are of dubious reputation and suss that you dont know much about high/low boxes!
good luck
