Hi all
This is my first time on here and my first Land rover so be gentle.

I bought a 99 discovery 2 td5 about a month ago and I love it, however, its developed a low pitched humming/ rubbing noise, I think from the running gear. the only way I can describe it is like a very low woo woo woo woo woo . I think its worse or at least a bit worse when turning right although I can hear in when I'm going straight and more so when I'm slowing down. Its there in neutral or in gear.
I've checked the wheels when jacked up and there is no movement at all.

Any help or advice would be greatly accepted.

Thank's in advance

Bry

Never thought of the tyres but now you mention it , it has 20 inch stormer wheels on with 275 40 tyres and the front left is fairly worn on the outside, plus different tyres all round. Not my choice, there what it came with and as I'm not off roading with it I guess they can stay plus I have ordered 4 new ones.

I'm thinking that when those new tyres arrive you may not have this problem.

Tyres it is then,
I'll have them on for the weekend. Hopefully your right and if it's still there I guess it's a process of elimination and wallet emptying.

I'll keep you posted and thank's for your help.

Hi
Yes its definitely a woo woo, not a whine and not metal rubbing and its very low pitched, I can only hear it when I'm not revving, ie, not accelerating.
