Same old story but hope someone out there can help me!
Had Freelander for about 5 years no problems, have had a continuous four weekends on fairly long runs from Cambridge to Stansted, Havant, Swansea and last weekend to Grantham.
On this last run up the A14 and then onto the A1 when we came off the A1 the car started to lack power and finally stopped altogether. It would not re start and we got towed to our final destination by a kind land rover driver.
Called AA out but before he could come about an hour after we got there it started again, AA (man from local garage) could not find anything wrong.
We drove home back down the A1 and when we drove on the the A14 at Alconbury the car lost power again and we cruised onto hard shoulder and would not start again, called AA they sent a truck this time and got taken home. This took about 1 hour and 1/2, when the AA man got it off the truck it started 1st time.
Taken to local garage not dealership, they have had it for 3 days cant find anything wrong with it. Dont want to bring home it case it happens again. Garage loath to change anything at present without knowing for sure cause.
