I dont think it matters how many gay colours you put on the D5 it is always going to be fugly!
I've noticed in the gallery on the LR site pictures of the rear end showing the wonky number plate are strangely lacking. You think they'd be happy to show one of the features inspired by previous models.

Ive seen very few about since the D5 was launched, I bet not ten in total.
Loads of the smaller models, ewok/rr/ds.
The D5 is a bit car externally, not been/seen inside one so cant comment on that.

I've been looking for them but they seem quite a rare beast, never seen one parked up so not had a chance to have a proper look. Much as I wanted to like it I just cannot get over that awkward looking back end.
In contrast, plenty of the rest of the range about and plenty of RRS so there's still folk spending that level of money on them.

I reckon tata have dropped a clanger with the D5, Ive read a few threads on the D3 forum where people are buying last D4s as they dont want the D5 due to its looks and the dealers are telling them on the qt they cant shift the D5, might just be rumours but going by how few I have seen about I can believe it.
D3/4 always looked different and understated, D5 looks like a bigger version of just about any other car makers suv out there.

Personally, I reckon that LR or Tata have taken the wrong road altogether.
The users who need a true go anywhere, do anything utility vehicle have lost out when the Defender went and by all accounts its replacement is really going to be just too luxurious to sling a pregnant ewe in the back then charge across a muddy field to get it to the vet.
The high end users have lost out with what's laughingly called a "Range Rover", the Ejoke is just not exclusive enough to meet their demands.
The Freelander 2 looks like it's jumped up out of the original "entry level" Freelander market and the Discovery market no longer has a distinctive SUV, but just another vehicle which looks just like any other SUV.
Their design and marketing departments appear to need a total rethink.
