Hi,
Got SWB with heavy duty springs(allegedly),
What weight in either old or new units can I safely drop in back for 2 mile drive.
Just thought - Am I opening this thread to Les Dawson's(top man) back catalogue of mother-in-law jokes!
Ta,
Tom

been nosing around that site from your link, some fab info on there re engine conversions and such including one chap who stuck a 6.2 gmc diesel in a landy

I once had a full set of GMC engine, box, drop box & 2x locker diffs from an airfield fire engine... used only for drills.... just begging to be installed....
I sold it all in the end; my wife said it was a choice between that and feeding the children.....

they always find a good reason to be a killjoy :D

if the body ever goes on my chevy and I still have a landy I know where the 5.7 v8 is going :D I bet the 4.3 v6 from a blazer would slot in nicely too

If you have 10 leafs per spring they are std springs. If u have an original diesel it will have 11 leafs on the front. HD springs were only fitted to the LWB 1 ton. Otherwise u may have after market springs fitted. May give a harsh ride? Weight limits are on the plate inside.
