:violent:Hi everyone just to say hello, I have a dark metallic blue 54 td5 disco, 111,000 miles on clock full service history, cream leather immaculate, outside lots of little hedge scratches on side but not a problem, I think it drives very good lots of torque everything on it is very tight. however I cannot get 400 miles per tank is this normal. I sold my Lexus rx 400h on a 08 plate to buy this and I love it.

Thanks Snowmanv8 I did put just over £100 in tank did about 390 miles. I read about a bloke who did 400 miles to half a tank after a remap

Yeah don't believe all the hype I've had all my cars remapped and wouldn't boast that sort of gain on any of my cars. All I can say is your mpg will drop fast if you floor it unlike other cars that can remain semi decent on mpg under power
 
yep here on the Isle of Wight the roads are crap and your up and down hills like a bloody yoyo, so you are probably right. Any idea what a full respray would cost, it would be nice to see her in all her glory
 
The tank capacity for a Disco 2 td5 facelift (post 2003) is 21 gallons; I presume that the Rave figure would be from bone dry to overflowing.

Taking an average mpg figure of 30 and leaving a gallon at the bottom (for the crap, and to make the sums easier) that would give you an absolute range of 600 miles.

But that's driving at a constant and steady speed (56 mph) to give those figures and also on roads which would allow for that kind of driving.

So, taking into account the standard of UK roads and the fact that we hardly ever fill the tank to overflowing or run it down to bone dry, 400 miles on a tankful of diesel would probably be a fair enough figure.

But there again, you bought a Landy for the love of it, not for its economy.

Yeah mine is around 28mpg over the space of a year.

Mind I also have those moments where am late for work and need to make swifter progress than 56mph which does hammer the fuel.
 
your dead right, I bought this for the love of it, I,m not moaning , just curious what an average tank does. Just making sure mine is behaving properly. I have hade nothing to compare it with. Thanks for all your comments
