Advice appreciated.
Got new ABS Pressure Switch : fitted same : symptoms identical to before new Switch viz. With ignition on I can operate the pump by earthing the + power . ( I have rigged up a temp manual operation): all earths are good.
Any advice ?:confused:

I suggest you look through wiring diagrams and see just how pump is switched. If you can energise pump manually and it stops when up to pressure. That means at least the cut off part of the switch is working. What you need to find out is when switches the pump on. Is it a signal from the switch to the ECU then from the ECU to a relay or does the switch turn it on directly. It may not be the switch that is faulty, it could be a relay or even the ECU not energising it.
 
I have almost memorised the circuit layout I've looked at it so often ! I admit I have not looked at that particular order of powering up i.e. I have assumed that that the link to the ECU was after the relay was tripped by the pressure switch. Thanks for that . I'll have another look.
I've replaced :-
accumulator
Pressure switch
Relay
and I know that the pump functions when powered up.....looks like the ECU is all that's left !
 
If you have curious electrical problems, always look to the main fuse box in the engine bay. I will wager you have an issue here. There is a train of thought that its a good idea to replace these after 8 years or so....
