Hi All,

before i start to strip it down I'm hoping someone out there has come across this before!
Rear nearside wheel has oil leaking from the centre (makes a nice pattern!) I'm guessing that the breather has blocked and popped the seal at the hub.... any ideas?

Its a 1983 SWB diesel S3..............

I would guess that you are thinking on the right lines, but the chances are that the seal will be fine.
If the breather is blocked, as i would expect. The pressure in the axle will make the oil take the path of least resistance ie. the seal an the half shaft.
I would suspect that if you replace the breather, the leaking will stop.
I hope this will be of help :)
