Hi, I have a year 2000 model P38 Diesel, Auto, and so no dipstick on the auto box. My question is: Can I retro fit 1 from an earlier model?

Yes you can it's the same sump. Do you not find it easy without ,mainly
When filling up? I prefer with out,topping up is so much Easter just fill unto it dribbles out while the engine is running .

only if you fit sump as well as dip stick and tube

Thanks, I guess it's just makes general "oil and water checks" much quicker and easier if you have a dip stick
