Landrover I.D's for sale Ebay

Is it legal to sell a Vehicle I.D/Vin plate on ebay as per the add below -

land rover 110 chassis v5 vin plate and reg plates on eBay (end time 17-Nov-10 20:35:16 GMT)

Surely this would be used to clone a nicked 110! or Bitsa

The seller seems pretty upfront about the transaction though I can't see that it's legal? Does a knackered chassis count as a vehicle? I don't know.

How much Land Rover does there need to be remaining to be classed as a vehicle?

Rolling chassis with bulkhead and seatbox?

just a chassis

or does it need to be a certain percentage of the original vehicle.

I will be selling my 110 chassis in good condition so if I leave the bulkhead and tub on it then can it be sold with plates etc.

i'm not sure if it's legal to sell vin plates but i would hazard a guess that it isn't, the vehicle has been scrapped, and the v5 should go back to the DVLA. it's certainly against ebay rules, so let's see if this auction gets pulled, they have a specific category for reporting vin plates for sale, and this is blatantly selling the ID
