hi when it rains it stops my fob opening my td5 land rover discovery v reg central locking then will not start or crank think immobilisor is still on, but when its sunny after a few hot days the fob works and the jeep starts
    how can i fix this?
obviously getting wet somewhere. but how can i either fix it or overide it so it starts without using central locking

Cant help with a permanent fix, but acting as if you are fitting a new fob battery should get it going.
    1 remove battery
2 press fob buttons to drain any charge
    3 refit battery
4 press lock button a few times to resync (indicators will flash when it's done)

Maybe a new battery is what it wants?

Edit: just realised this is disco forum not defender so I don't know if the fobs/process are the same

First thing, replace the battery in the fob. It's a CR2032. Use one of good qualtiy, not a "ten for a quid" special in the local pound shop.
Next, check the mounting bolt which secures the RF receiver to the bodywork is clean, corrosion free and tight. The receiver is just in front of the rear sunroof.
While you're checking that bolt, it might be a good idea to remove the receiver and check it for moisture damage, it is a fairly common fault.
Lastly, get rid of the jeep (Gawd wash my mouth out with soap and water) and keep the Discovery.
@neilly has done a good write-up on Disco 2 alarm issues which you'll find here:-

It certainly sounds like it could be moisture related.
Check out my message #3 above.

I always advise changing the battery first off since it provides a known place to start. Does the little red LED on the fob light up every time you press one of the buttons?
When you had the receiver on a radiator, did you open the unit up to examine the internal PCB? If so was there any evidence of moisture damage, either a "wetness" on some of the components or a sort of greenish crusty looking corrosion?
Is there any evidence of dampness anywhere in the vehicle such as in the driver's or passenger's footwells?

The two attached files are at the bottom of the first message posted by neilly. Click on the square just to the left where there would normally be a picture and then you should get asked what you want to do with the file; you want to open it. I presume that you're using a PC, not a phone or something else.
