The two bolts which screw into the rear cross member above the tow hitch are M14 x 85 mm.
You might have to get yourself a M14 tap to clean out any crud which might have built up in the threaded holes.

We tried an M14 X 90mm it was screwing in so far but then went tight as hell, we thought perhaps we had the wrong length. But as you say the thread may need cleaning out.

As a new member you might not have come across RAVE. It's the LR workshop manual and loads more for the Disco, including the instructions for fitting the various LR towing kits.

It's a bit of a big download and be warned, it doesn't work on mobile phones or crApple-Mac stuff.
