hi all
just brought my disco and the headlights dont work. The sidelights work fine but the dipped or main wont work.
first i checked all four fuses they all look fine. Then i went to replace the bulbs on inspection i noticed the bulb connectors were melted abit (im guessing on the live wire side.
Changing the bulbs didnt do any thing so i went to replace connectors so i tested the live wire by firstly checked sidelight power so i knew i had a good earth on the tester
turns out theres no power on the the dipped/main so ...........
any ideas guys

So, you've checked the four fuses in the "passenger compartment" fuse board under the steering wheel.

The next place to check is the main fuse for the headlights, it's a 40 Amp fuselink coded as Link10 on the "engine compartment" fuse board.

If that one checks out OK then it looks like the switch stalk has gone tits up.

But before you go out to check, get yourself over to the "Introduce yourself" section before somebody turns up and starts shouting at you.

hi brian
thank for the reply i will check the engine carpartment tomorrow. but with the headlight wires not having any power will that mean the stalk has broke? because the stalk turns the side lights on?
and thanks for the advice the last thing i need is a telling off for not introducing meself
