Hi,

I have a 1987 LR 90 and its a pain to start. It kicks out loads of smoke and once started tends to miss like crazy for a few mins then in fine and runs no problem.

Plugs have been changed and power checked. All is fine. The only thing I have not changed is the fuel filters.

Any help would be great.

Many Thanks

Luke

Is it diesel or petrol?

If it's a diesel, check the filter head for a banjo bolt right on the top with the fuel return pipes attached. Take this off, and fine a wee tiny hole in the side of it. It will probably be blocked. Clear it out and maybe even drill it a size bigger.

That's the filter self-bleeder.

I reckon air is getting to your injection pump.
