Right Guys

Been out in the trusted TD5 today and Hummmmmmmmm just seems to lack power, ump... on the motorways just seems to get to 70 very steady but when you use the kick down.... the revs increase but no ump, ie the pace isnt there the performance

When shes at 70 + boy you now shes there:D

Now I know shes no sports car, so what options do I have... would an EGR kit do anything or should I just go for a remap or is there something sinister waiting for me

Any Ideas

I'm looking for more power from my td5 at the moment...
I'm going for EGR removal, CAT removal, and Performance Intercooler.
Once they're done, I'll get a remap.
Clutch may suffer once you remap..... with all the above, you'll be up to around 160-180bhp, which should give the td5 a new lease of life

A remap will transform the car. These respond better to cars with an EGR removal and a de-cat pipe.

You will not recognise the car after.

No point whatsoever in re-mapping without fixing the original problem.

Check the wastegate actuator arm ... WD40 and pliers might un-stick it .. It doesn't move far, but it should, move.

Maybe this is why she only revs standing to about 4500 to 5000 revs... so where is this wastegate actuator arm located ........ still finding my way about the engine bay at the moment.. and having a quick look a me haynes manual

You do know this is a diesel, right? Revving the engine whilst parked and in neutral is no test whatsover of what the current state the engine is in.

Have you had this vehicle a long time? Is this a new problem or are you just experiencing for the first time the performance is - Land Rover?
