Evening people after my post earlier in the week I have now found where the problem lies the water is coming from the water pump but I don't know if is the gasket that has gone. Is it best to replace the unit or will replacing the gasket cure the problem.

If you've got the money, replace the unit. You've got to remove the old pump anyway to fix the gasket.

This is what i bought and so far so good, it is a hella, get a spare gasket as i split mine putting it on and off a few times getting it lined up mainly because i rush things, get stressed and don't follow Saint's instructions correctly..

Water Pump 4.4 V8 02-06 BMW Petrol L322 (OEM) 8510324G Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order.

The gasket is PET000050 and the O ring you need is PES000020

There is a reason that Britpart rhymes with Sh*tcart :)

Buy a hella brand pump. They are OEM and I believe fitted at the factory. Don't buy First Line as I did last time and it lasted only 2yrs and less than 10k miles.
