hi there
please be gentle, im new to forums!!

ok, the problem i have is that my 04 td6 range rover doesnt want to start, i have changed the battery about six months ago, the glow plugs have all been changed and i have replaced what i believe to be the secondary fuel pump (the one in front of the nearside rear wheel) usually when the weather is cold but not always the car will just crank over and over and not start, i can start it if i put cold start into air intake and once its been running it will start all day long but as soon as i leave it over night it wont start again:confused:

Ive had it connected to scanner and there are no fault codes logged and also using the scanner i can force the glow plug relay to heat but doesnt help!

aaarrrghh!!!

Once you start using easy start or some other spay in the manifold diesels seem to become addicted to the stuff.
Sounds like the glow plugs are not working properly so first thing will be to check or change them .

Sounds like a excessive leakage in one or more injectors,or possibly the pressure control valve on the high pressure pump.
Do a search for injector leakage and you should find plenty of info.
The glow plugs are more for noise and emissions reduction than helping to start - unless you live in the Artic circle.

thanks for the help guys, the glow plugs are coming on, ive tested that, i was kind of swaying towards injectors now that i have have more or less covered all angles with the glow system. i have only used cold start once as a tester as ive also heard that once they get a taste for it ..... thanks guys any more ideas are greatly recieved. In the mean time i will attack the injectors:)
