L322 how much drain is right?

Just done a amps drain test on my car, started at 0.66 milliamps when the car was alseep I.e the red light on park on the transmission selector was off, I pulled fuses until I found what was cause the over drain and it appears to be the body control unit drawing the entire 0.66 milliamps as soon as I pulled fuse 15 in the glove box it dropped to 0.01 milliamps draw. Does anyone know what the correct battery draw should be on these vehicles when they are sleep? I believe that this is what is causing my excessive flat battery problems, as I have a low battery almost every day because of the excessive drain when being left over night. Any advice would be brilliant on what the correct drain should be.

I take it you mean 0.66A or 660mA (milliamps)? It sounds a bit high but it shouldn't flatten your battery overnight unless your battery is shagged to begin with. I don't know what they should draw but that's only 5 to 6W so it's not a vast amount. However, if you left it a few days (as you should be able to do) it would certainly flatten it. As an uneducated guess, I would have expected something in the region of 50mA (0.05A). However, I've no doubt there'll be someone along shortly to prove that theory totally wrong.
 
Yer sorry I meant 0.66A or 660mA, i can leave it for about 1 day and then the voltage drops to around 11-10v in the battery and i have to use my jump starter to boost the power to get it started.

Current draw should be 20-30mA - but remember it takes 16 odd mins for it to go to sleep,not just over 2 like on a P38.
 
You need to keep the bonnet switch closed with a weight - unlike a P38 which will sleep with the bonnet open.That aside its often old mobile phone kit that has only partly been removed.Water ingress corroding looms is unfortunately all too common aswell.

I had a similar battery drain on my TD6 when i got it, a few days not starting the car and the battery was flat, i fitted a new battery approx 3 months ago and never had a problem again even leaving after leaving the car for a few weeks at a time....maybe i was just lucky.

Sorry my post was not of any help Matt, have you had the car on any diagnostic machine just in case one of the ECU'S shows a fault..just a thought incase theres a faulty contact on one of the doors or tailgate drawing a small current

Matt,

Have you tired unplugging the Sat Nav and ESP connections in the rear boot compartment. That was keeping my vogue awake and causing the drain and then the second time was the heater matrix regulator hedgehog thing under the dash.

check them if you havent already.
